ABSTRACT BUTTERFLY HANGING

Morning everyone,
Today, I’m sharing my latest DT project for Daisy’s Jewels and Crafts - Abstract Butterfly hanging, using the Large mdf filigree butterfly (pack of 3)
For this I made two holes at the top (comes without holes) which is very easy.
I wanted to make it a wall hanging, so threaded some ribbon through the holes.
I chose a few colours of paint and, very randomly, splotched (technical term! 😜 lol) paint in various areas. Then, using a few techniques, as well as different stamps, went over the top with other colours, in various inks.
I love the retro and abstract look it gave it.
I then painted one of the mdf words from Daisy’s “Beautiful” and attached it to the bottom (using Daisy’s mdf glue)
Lastly, I added a few self adhesive coloured pearls xx

Products used:
Daisy’s mdf filigree trio butterflies - large one
Daisy’s mdf words “Beautiful”
Daisy’s mdf glue
Dylusions paints: Vanilla custard, Peony blush, Mushy peas, Rose quartz, Periwinkle blue, Laidback lilac
Antique Linen Distress paint

WEATHERED GATE

Hey everyone,

Today, I’m blogging my latest DT project for Daisy’s Jewels and Crafts - “Weathered Gate” using their mdf garden gate on a stand. I wanted to make it look old and weathered, as this is very much my ‘thing!’ 😉
I painted it with white gesso first, then did a layer of crackle paste. Once dried, I used Distress inks to give it an old, weathered look. I used a birch stamp to give it some wood details. Then, added a couple of hinges which I painted with rust paint.
I used Daisy’s moss embellishments at the base and on some of the gate itself. I hope you like xx

HOCHANDA SAMPLES 13/09

Hey all,
Today, I'm sharing my samples for Daisy's Jewels and Crafts shows on Hochanda, Wednesday, 13th September. Shows at 8am and 3pm.
They'll be showcasing some fabulous Christmas mdf, such as advent calendars, book boxes and more, including some gorgeous stencils. Make sure you tune in to see all the great samples and fab prices.
Here are my samples for the shows. I've made one of each of the great book boxes (they come in three different sizes) for the two smaller ones I used Christmas papers and paints to cover. For the largest, I used red tissue paper. To decorate, I used some of the little mdf shapes from the grab bag available.
I also made an mdf vase, which I also painted and covered with papers. I added a couple of tea lights (battery) to light it up.
These were all easy to assemble and lots of fun. I hope you enjoy the shows :)
